Hello fellow arty friends. Don't panic, I'm not selling anything 🤓
Basically I need to get a bit of feedback/input from as many local arty folk as I can. Today I spent ages trawling through my Facebook friends list for any local Derbyshire based arty people. I then added all of those people into a Messenger Group, but apparently Messenger has new European rules that currently prevent certain features from working 🙄 So I'm posting on here instead...
Last summer I worked on an arts project for Community Growth CIc -Arts, Heritage and environmental Education a Chesterfield Cultural Education Partnership organisation. We got talking after the project and they are really keen to support the arts as much as possible going forward, which is obviously really nice to hear. Especially in these barmy times. So I was tasked with the lovely job of gathering a bit of feedback…
One possible way that was mentioned was a Facebook Page (or other such connectivity site) called something like Creative Collaborations. A place for artists, schools, cultural organisations etc to find each other, moot and share ideas and collaborate. What are your thoughts on this? Is it something you would engage in yourself? Does this already exist elsewhere? Do you have any other ideas for how we could support local creativity and culture in Chesterfield and surrounding areas?
So there you go. Have a think. Let me have any of your thoughts. Share with other local arty folk that I may not know. And many thanks for your time.
My Zoom Portrait classes are filling up nicely, but I do still have a few more spaces if anyone fancies this...
4 weeks - Tuesday 19th & 26th Jan, 2nd & 9th Feb - 10.00 until 12.00 via Zoom - £32
I'll select and share a suitable image to work from each week (or use your own). Use whatever art materials you have or want to use... And we'll all have a fun 2 hour creative time 🙂
Let me know if you're keen on this. I can send more details if you want them. Tell you how to pay. How to access the Zoom sessions and reserve you a space if you want 💗🙂💗
With the world all still messed up and heaven knows what kicking off in America tonight 🙄 it was rather lovely to get my fun friendly collage Zoom classes back 💗🙂💗
This class/course is now full, but keep checking for other classes/course throughout the year 🙂
Online Portrait Classes - Tuesday 19th Jan until Tuesday 9th Feb - 10.00 until 12.00am - 4 weeks via Zoom - £32
As I previously mentioned, I am really keen to start up a few online portrait classes, so let's see who's interested and let's give it a go 😊
I'll select a suitable portrait image each week, which I'll share prior to the classes. Or people can work on their own images if they'd rather. Pick whichever medium you'd like to use. We can then spend two hours each week tackling the portraits. I'll offer advice, tips and guidance where needed, we can all share our ideas, our artwork and much fun will be had by all.
My classes are generally fairly relaxed and welcoming, so I'd be happy to accept people of all abilities and experience. Sometimes it's just nice to share a few hours with other creative people 💗
So, if you are interested in these classes do email, message or leave me a comment and I can book you on and share payment info and Zoom links with you 💗🙂💗
Almost time to kick off another round of mixed media collage Zoom classes 🙂
Weds 6th Jan until Weds 10th Feb - 7.00 until 9.00pm
£48 for 6 weeks
A few places still remain, so if you fancy this do let me know pronto. I can then send you the Zoom link and all relevant info 💗🙂💗
Well it looks like lockdown life will continue for a wee while longer into 2021 🙄
So, as online classes look like the only option for now and as they're actually rather fun to do, plus I need to earn a few pennies... I'm considering setting up a weekly portrait class on Zoom. I'll pick a suitable image, person or sitter (maybe?) each week. People can use whatever medium they want. We'll all tackle the portrait for a couple of hours. I'll help out where possible. We can all share tips & problems. Much fun will be had 🙂
I'll charge a fairly small fee for these sessions, assuming I get enough people.
So who fancies this??? Daytime or evening? Any particular day? Just pop any comments below, or share with people you think may want this 💗🙂💗
And speaking of online classes... I still have a few places left on my Jan/Feb mixed media collage Zoom classes. Weds 6th Jan until Weds 10th Feb (7.00 until 9.00pm) - £48 for the 6 weeks.
See you in 2021 💗
Arts projects, teaching and art commissions all now done for this barmy year. Surviving as an artist in this crazy year has been a spectacular battle, and that's putting it very mildly.
2020 has made me realise who values the arts and who doesn't. It's made me realise which companies and organisations are lovely to work for and which ones are not. It's made me really grateful for all of the arts work that has been offered to me and has made me really appreciate all of the lovely people who've attended my classes/courses/workshops 💗
Time for me to say a happy Xmas to you all. Here's hoping 2021 will bring better and brighter things ☀️☀️☀️
And as I don't do winter, here's a sunny scribble of somewhere hot and sunny from my old dog-eaten sketchbook XxX
One unexpected joy this crazy year has been teaching my Weds evening Fleet Arts collage class online via Zoom. I never imagined that an online art class could work anywhere near as well as this one has. So much fun 😊
So, as the World is still generally knee deep in poo, I'm going to be running another 6 weeks of this mixed media collage class in Jan/Feb 2021 - Weds 6th January until Weds 10th Feb - 7.00 until 9.00pm - £48 for the 6 weeks.
I probably will have to limit numbers a wee bit for this, mainly because I like to spend time talking to everyone individually during the class and also because I wouldn't want everyone's Zoom windows to be too tiny. I do already have quite a few people already signed up, so if you are keen, or you need a bit more information, do get in touch ASAP 💗
This has been so so much fun to do 😊 A big thanks to Fleet Arts for asking me and a big thanks to all who joined in with the Wednesday arty fun 💗 I'll be back in January with more online classes, so watch this space...
