Sometimes you just stumble upon a face that really needs painting or drawing. This was based on a photograph I found whilst searching for interesting portrait photography for one of my art classes. So much character in the face and lots of lovely creases and folds to really get stuck into 🙂

This was drawn predominantly with an ink pen and initially I was really undecided whether to add any colour to this or not. The finished ink portrait actually survived for quite a few days until the urge to add some colour finally got too much. It’s been added with brusho and I have been really sparing with it, as I’ve fallen foul of too much colour in the past.

Original artwork and signed prints of this piece are available to purchase via my online shop.
