Art – Mixed media collage course (Belper)

Course description: This is a 6 week mixed media collage course. All abilities are welcome. If drawing isn’t necessarily your strong point, if you like to collect/hoard ‘interesting’ things, if you’re happy to play and experiment, often without much of a plan, if you like to find your own way, rather than being told exactly where to go, if you’re happy to explore, to create, then this may be just your thing 🙂 Over the 6 weeks I’ll look at lots of different ways to use collage in your artwork, I’ll bring examples of other artists collage work (including my own), I’ll bring a few videos along and I’ll set little creative challenges along the way. Think of this six week course as a little journey into the exciting world of collage. Everyone will work very differently; they always do when I run these classes, but that makes it all the better when sharing your work, techniques and ideas with others. Most of my classes/courses have a real mix of learners. Some very accomplished & experienced, and some who haven’t picked up a pencil or glue-stick since they left school. Please don’t be scared if you are the latter of the two. I will always spend a lot of time with ‘new’ learners to hopefully ease you into the class gently 🙂

And finally, a word of warning… If you are new to collage, I will encourage you to see the world a little differently, to not throw anything away and you may hate me by the end of these six weeks 😀

I am aware that some people may have prior appointments or holidays booked during Feb/Mar. If you have and you know that you’ll miss a week or two, I’m happy to deduct these weeks off the cost of your course. Just let me know and I’ll send you details of how to pay this. Demand can be fairly high for these courses, so I do have to operate a first come first served basis. If you are keen to give this a go, let me know asap ?
