I first got into teaching over twenty years ago; initially running arts activities at National Trust properties. From there I then spent eight years as artist in residence at a junior school in Derby city. A big inner-city school, with a massive multi-cultural range of kids. It wasn’t always easy, but it was here where I really learnt and I’m hugely grateful for having this experience. Since those early days, my teaching has taken me to many different venues across the UK. I’ve taught in Nursery, Infant, Junior & Secondary schools. I’ve taught courses at Adult Education centres. Delivered art sessions at Universities, Family Centres, Museums & Youth Clubs. I’ve taken art activities into Residential Homes for the elderly. Delivered teacher-training sessions in Primary schools. I’ve worked in Special Schools and have experience working with people with mental & physical disabilities.
Teaching for me has always felt like a privilege. To be able to share my skills with others is always a pleasure. Yes it can be tough at times, but It can also be a hugely rewarding job.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all of my teaching work has been cancelled or postponed until further notice. A lot of people are currently missing my art classes. So in an attempt to slightly fill this void a little, I’ve been posting a few arty creative video tutorials on YouTube.
