When the world was black & white…

And this is precisely how I imagined the world to be when I was younger. The world of my grandparents, great grandparents & earlier was a drab, slightly out of focus, black & white world.  Try as I might, I simply couldn’t imagine it any other way. Even modern colour films of my preconceived black & white world didn’t help. In fact, if I’m perfectly honest I still find it hard to imagine a pre-1940’s world in colour. The 1st & 2nd World War, black & white. Derby County winning the FA Cup, black & white (not to mention a painfully long time ago!!!), Queen Victoria, very black & white, American Civil war, black & white. Man landing on the moon, black & white (although to be fair, I think most of this was in fact black & white!!!).

But then just to confuse the issue, pretty much everything pre 18th century, colour all the way. Not a problem 🙂

It’s probably just a generation thing??? Or is it just me???

Can you imagine Winston Churchill with a sun-tan 😎
