Steph runs art classes, courses, demonstrations, talks & workshops, which are all a valuable part in helping Steph to question and develop her own artwork. She has worked professionally in the arts since 1996, during which time she has amassed a vast amount of teaching experience. Sharing her passion for the arts is a real joy & hopefully she can inspire others to pursue their creative journey.

Art Demonstrations & workshops

Steph’s art demonstrations, talks & workshops have taken her to numerous art groups, local societies and organisations. She loves to talk; sometimes a little too much 🙄 . She likes to share her creative passion and rather bizarrely she loves the challenge and the pressure of creating art in front of people.

Most of Steph’s demonstrations & workshops tend to be 2 hour sessions, but she is flexible on this. Demonstrations are charged by the hour, plus travel expenses.

“In January 2018 we had a very inspirational demonstration from Stephanie Coley. She is a local artist who uses collage and mixed media to create some wonderful artwork. She showed the group how she uses old ‘broken’ books and then using black biro, draws in a face. We were very inspired with the process. Most of us are very traditional in our creative painting, but Stephanie showed us how, using this method, you can create some stunning artwork. The group really enjoyed our afternoon with Stephanie. She was generous with her time and teaching.” – U3A Ripley & District – Art Group

“This was a most interesting demonstration that could boost the sale of ‘biros’ in the Birstall area! So much potential for people to try this interesting technique and so much talent within our society for individuals to take on the challenge and have a go. Loved to see her do her workshop.” – Birstall & District Art Society

“Thank-you so much Steph! Year 2 had a fun-packed, exciting workshop day, making a variety of collages with you. Your enthusiasm is infectious and your inspiring activities enabled the children to become confident collage artists! Your visit has been an outstanding foundation for our Arts Award topic and we look forward to working with you again, next year.” – Fiona Blake, Art and Design teacher, Overseal Primary School.

“Steph came to St. Peter’s as ‘Artblock’ and over the years has worked on many projects to improve Art in school. Her long term and most recent commitment has been to run an art club after school. This is a really popular club with all pupils that is always oversubscribed Steph’s art skills are excellent, as is her manner with our pupils.Steph has a professional and friendly manner with all stakeholders and is always able to adapt her skills to meet the needs of different people. This was demonstrated when she ran an art training day for all of our staff and brought out the artists in all of us!” Alison Woodhouse, Head teacher, St. Peter’s C of E Primary School.
