Photography

I’ve had a fair few new viewers to this site recently. I’ve been pretty busy doing art demonstrations here there and everywhere and lots of people have been grabbing my little business cards and are later having a good old poke around this website. Which is always a bonus 🙂 It’s also a polite little prod at me to make sure things on here are up to date and working properly, which I think they largely are. Please say if they’re not 🙄

One thing that probably does need addressing is my photography. I’ve never really seen myself as a photographer, despite the fact that I do proudly list this ‘hobby’ at the top of this website. I do take a lot of photographs and have done for many many years. I attempted one of those photo a day challenges about six years ago and I’ve since not been able to stop. That’s a bloody lot of photos 😯 I’ve always said when people ask me about this; you will take an awful lot of mundane photographs, but every now and again you will stumble upon something that is visually great. Something that most people probably wouldn’t even notice. A photo every single day really gets you to look at the world differently and this is something I really enjoy doing… Now, as someone very correctly pointed out to me recently, this website is sadly lacking any of my photography work. Yes I do have a little Instagram feed down near the bottom of this page, which is where I post all of my images, but apart from that I seldom really shout about my photography.

So to address that issue a wee bit, here’re a few of my recent images… All taken with a smartphone. I ditched the big cumbersome cameras and lenses a long time ago. I’m now very much a point and shoot kinda person, who sometimes tweaks things a little afterwards.
