Artist Stephanie Coley will be running an abstract art workshop at No.28 Belper. During the three hour session Steph will share her tips, knowledge and expertise on this fun process. People will get to experiment, explore & create artwork using a wide variety of collage and mixed-media materials. All abilities are welcome and no previous experience is necessary.
The workshop costs £35 per person. All art materials and refreshments provided.
A lot of people really struggle with abstract art, whether this is appreciating it or creating it. For many years I struggled with abstract art myself. I couldn’t see any skill or merit in the artwork and I had absolutely no desire to make any. Over time my views gradually changed, I started to play and experiment, and I found the whole experience so rewarding. Abstract art really opened my eyes. I started to make art in a very different way. I started to appreciate art in a very different way also.
During this fun and experimental workshop, I’ll talk through and demonstrate a few of my abstract processes. I’ll explain things that help, things I do, and things I avoid. I’ll talk about and demonstrate certain art materials I use when creating my abstract work. This workshop will be hugely playful, you’ll make a mess, and you’ll have plenty of fun.
