Collage Class via Zoom
Course description: During February & March Steph will be running 6 more of her Zoom Collage classes. All abilities are welcome. If drawing isn’t necessarily your strong point, if you like to collect/hoard ‘interesting’ things, if you’re happy to play and experiment, often without much of a plan, if you like to find your own way, rather than being told exactly where to go, if you’re happy to explore, to create, then this may be just your thing 🙂 Over the 6 weeks Steph will look at lots of different ways to use collage in your artwork, she’ll share examples of other artists collage work (including her own), she’ll share collage & mixed media videos during the course and she’ll set little creative challenges along the way too. Each session will be themed, just to get your brain working a little more. Some of the themes you’ll like, some you’ll struggle with, but this is all part of the creative process.
Each week you’ll receive a lovely long email, packed with a nice selection of arty YouTube videos and web-links, to hopefully inspire you and get your brain buzzing. You’ll also get an image for you to use during the session if you wish to. Steph will also share her own thoughts on the weekly theme.
People tackle these themed sessions in many different ways and Steph is always really flexible with how people approach these sessions. Some people are very literal, some people go off on a tangent. Some people even ditch the theme entirely and do their own thing. It really doesn’t matter. The themes are there to limit your choices (as this is always an issue with collage) and to open your eyes to new ways of working. Collage is a funny one. You can plan, you can prepare and then you can end up going in a totally different direction. You can start the session totally clueless and then unexpected delights may happen. Collage is a little journey that you go on and the main purpose of these sessions is to get people to explore & to experiment for two hours each week.
Most of Steph’s classes/courses have a real mix of learners. Some very accomplished & experienced, and some who haven’t picked up a pencil or glue-stick since they left school. Please don’t be scared if you are the latter of the two. Steph will always spend a lot of time with ‘new’ learners to hopefully ease you into the class gently 🙂
And finally, a word of warning… If you are new to collage, you will be encourage you to see the world a little differently, to not throw anything away and you may hate Steph by the end of the course 😀
Location: This is an online art course and will be delivered via Zoom. The Zoom info & meeting link will be emailed prior to the course starting.

- Week 2 – Weds 24th Apr – 7.00 until 9.00pm (GMT) – ‘Addiction’ theme
- Week 3 – Weds 1st May – 7.00 until 9.00pm (GMT) – ‘Scale/Perspective’ theme
- Week 4 – Weds 8th May – 7.00 until 9.00pm (GMT) – ‘Indigenous’ theme
- Week 5 – Weds 15th May – 7.00 until 9.00pm (GMT) – ‘Decay’ theme
- Week 6 – Weds 22nd May – 7.00 until 9.00pm (GMT) – ‘Bold colour’ theme
Cost: £8 per 2 hour session
