For almost 20 years I’ve been a self-employed artist. I’ve never really had an ‘ism’, I’ve simply made art because it’s what I selfishly chose to do. And unlike many of my previous jobs, making art was something I was actually rather good at. It’s not everyone’s career of choice, and there are very good reasons for this. The ‘highs’ can be euphoric and the ‘lows’ can be pretty desperate. I’ve had my fair share of both over the years.
