Le chapeau revient…

So we’re approaching that time of the year when the schools break-up for the summer, the Brits start bemoaning about the lack of a decent summer and most families head off for their summer holidays. This Friday we’ll be heading off to France & Belgium and for me that signals one thing… It’s almost time to lose another hat šŸ™ It’s what I do. Two years ago I left my trusty hat in a French hotel & then spent the rest of the holiday driving around Europe moaning & searching for a suitable replacement. Twitter & Facebook was swamped with ‘hat’ related posts!!! So enraged I even wrote a book about my beloved missing chapeau (shameless plug coming up šŸ™‚ )…

or for a paperback version

Last year Tracy bought me a lovely new replacement, which I promptly left on the roof of our car while driving away from an Italian beach. It was almost a year to the day since I’d lost the 1st one and I think I even waved at the Italian guy who was trying to tell me about the hat on the roof šŸ™„ Just like before, I then spent the rest of the holiday moaning & trying to find another hat. I did, which amazingly I still have. I’ve since been given another hat (which I also still have) and last week Tracy came home from a night-out with yet another hat which she’d found apparently. Add these to my snug fitting Australian hat, woollen beanie and a cloth fishman’s hat and I could almost wear a different hat each day of our holiday, assuming I don’t lose them on the way!!!

I will not be hat-less this year…
