Twenty two years ago 😯 I hopped onto a train one morning, with three of my mates, off to London to catch U2 at Wembley. It seemed like every pub in London had U2 constantly playing on their juke-boxes and we tried a fair few of them during the day!!! A little hazy eyed we did eventually make it to the concert and the bits that I can remember we’re stunning. The four of us lived off that day for years to come…
And then completely out of nowhere my mate died four years ago. I’d not seen him for ages and didn’t even realise he’d been ill. My mate had known how long he’d got left and had planned his own funeral… He played U2.
Twenty two years later and I got to see them again (with a little less beer) and I thought a lot of my mate…

I won’t bore you to tears about how stunningly awesome the concert was (I’ll let the non U2 people I went with do that), mainly because I’m a complete U2 unbiased anorak who’s bound to say that anyway, but also because of the U2/Marmite love/hate relationship they seem to have with people. What I’ll do is post one more clip which pretty much sums up why I love this band so much… And it probably sums up why some people hate them so much as well 😎

I’m affraid I can’t lay claim to the videos… Borrowed from Youtube. But the near dead Olympus did take a fair few decent shots on the night…
Glad to hear that Friday went ok…
